Pilots at Royal Air Maroc (RAM) began a three-day strike on Wednesday, but the Moroccan airline said traffic would not be hit. "Some 95 percent of RAM's 384 pilots are following the strike call. Almost all the airline's 33 planes are grounded," said Nejib Ibrahimi, head of the Moroccan Pilots Association.

RAM said passenger traffic would not be affected as the airline had leased planes for use during the strike, the third since June.

"The company had taken all the measures to ensure that flights go ahead as planned and passengers reach their destinations in good conditions," the airline said.

RAM has rejected the pilots' demand that it prioritise Moroccans over foreign pilots at the low-cost subsidiaries Atlas Blue and RAM Express, saying it made sense to hire non-Moroccans whose salaries are lower.
