"Africa is a market with great potential for Bombardier at several levels," said Ms. Elmallem during the North African first edition of the World Investment Conference (WIC), which runs from March 20 to 22 in Marrakech.
Over the next 20 years, it is expected that Africa will be in the pack of the world leaders in terms of annual economic growth rate, which stimulates the activity of both commercial and aviation business.
With its portfolio of aircraft in the lead industry, Bombardier is well positioned to capture a significant share of the African demand for new aircraft.
Bombardier has recently started production of aircraft structures in a simple makeshift factory near Casablanca, employing 18 local graduates of the Institute of Aviation Trades (IMA).
Plans are underway to build the Bombardier factory in Morocco, which should employ a skilled workfoce of some 850 people by 2020.
