Morocco obtains much of its military systems from France. The Snecma group has supplied to Rabat such systems as the Larzac-powered Alpha Jet and the Atar 9K50-powered Mirage F1.
Executives said Assystem Maroc will apply its design engineering skills to the aerospace, rail, automotive and naval industries. The joint venture will train 20 Moroccan engineers hired in September.
Later, the training program will be extended to employees hired in 2001 and next year.
Assystem is the leading French provider of high value-added technical services for industry. It has more 3,500 employees, half of whom are engineers and management.
